Heads or Tails with Jean Harrison

After joining a group of women at church in doing an online devotional called "Good Morning Girls", where the women take a passage of Scripture and "S.O.A.P." it (Scripture-Observation-Application-Prayer) Jean found herself thinking through Scripture and it's application to life in her walks with her new puppy, Buddy. Here are some of her musings...

On My Walk

On my walk today w/Buddy, I noticed a large conduit that a man could fit through.  There were children's nerf guns laying down at the entrance and huge rocks too.  I stopped & stared at it for a few minutes.

I thought how enticing this dark tunnel would be for children to explore.  It was dark, mysterious, scary, challenging, and adventurous.  How far in would a child go without a light?  At the least he might get a few scrapes and bruises but what would happen if he went further and further in?  Hurt himself much worse, get lost....

Then I thought this is what sin does.  We play at the entrance and see no harm come.  Then we go further into sin and suffer the greater consequences.  Finally God shines a light on our situation and bids us to repent and come out of that dark, nasty, stinking tunnel.
