The title of this blog is my own; the words below are not. As many of you know, Daniel is one of our Deacons and leaders in the church. I have never met anyone more expectant of God showing up... and humble enough to find the humor when we have one of those, "What was I thinking?" moments. Enjoy!
I was out for my last day of hunting in the woods yesterday. It was a little cool (just saying). So; I shot a buck first thing in the morning. As I was heading back into the woods after taking it to the truck, I told myself I was only staying out until 11AM. I saw lots of deer, none close enough to shoot with the bow. It’s now 10:38. So, I decide to pray aloud (it’s in the woods, who’s going to hear me?). So here’s what I said: “Lord, I’m ok either way, if you want me to have another deer, so be it, if not I’m ok with that too. All this to say, I’m leaving here in 22 minutes. So if You want me to have another deer, it has to show up in the next 22 minutes.” Can I say that I’m a big dummy? Never pray to Your living God a prayer like that! I’m telling you, as soon as I was done saying (out loud) my prayer…IMMEDIATELY not one, but three came RUNNING to my tree and stopped underneath me. Where they came from I do not know, all I do know is that I only could look at them…my bow was on the bow holder behind me in the tree. I wasn’t ready for answered prayer. If there’s a person who should KNOW that He provides…eeesh! So; He provided. I wasn’t ready. At the end of the day; He taught me this lesson. “I’m alive, I hear you, and I love You more than you’ll ever know.” So; this applies to you today…He’s alive, He hears you, and He loves you more than you’ll ever know. To Him be the glory.
