Something To Share, Something To Learn (Exodus 18)

In this sermon we will be in Exodus 18, which tells us about the interaction between Moses and his father-in-law, Jethro (appropriate for Father's Day). Moses has a story to share with Jethro about how God delivered Moses and his people. Moses also has something to learn from Jethro about sharing the load of leadership. In the same way, every believer today has a story of God's grace to share with everyone they meet. Also, every believer should humbly seek to learn and grow from every conversation they have.

What story of God's grace do I have to share with others?
How can I humbly seek to learn and grow through every conversation that I have?

A Standing Invitation from the LORD (Exodus 16)

In this sermon, we'll look at the account of how God provided food for the Israelites to eat in the wilderness from Exodus 16. This passage will remind us how we have a standing invitation from the LORD to a deeper relationship with Him. We don't deserve a relationship with Him, but He invites us to see His glory through His Word, His work, and His Son. A relationship with Him is what ultimately satisfies our souls and gives us true rest. How does God provide for me?
Do I find my satisfaction in Him?

Will You Sing? (Exodus 15:1-21)

They'll also thank God for His victory, power, and salvation. Even if we're not the best singers ourselves, this passage will show us how we can pass on the story of what God has done for us to the next generation. How do I pass on the stories of what God has done for me?Who do I share with?

Tell Your Children... (Exodus 12-13)

In this sermon we will focus on how God told His people to remember the Passover in Exodus 12-13.

Three times in the passage, God tells the Israelites to explain to their children why they remember the Passover. This teaches us to pass on our faith to those who come after us. We are to tell them how God has saved us, why they should join God's people, and why we worship/serve Him the way that we do. Another way to pass on our faith is through our participation in the Lord's Supper.

How do I pass on what I have learned about God?

How does He rescue us from slavery to sin?

Share The Gospel! (Isaiah 62)

This week we are going to be looking at Isaiah 62, the whole chapter. One core tenet of East Shore is evangelism, we love it, we share the gospel every week. We collect the evangelism stories each week to encourage us to press on.
As this is Pastor Tom's final sermon, he wants to encourage you all the more to continue sharing the gospel! It is Pastor Tom’s prayer that Isaiah 62 will only strengthen that passion of gospel proclamation.

Rising Tensions (Plagues Pt. 3) - (Exodus 10-11)

In this sermon we finish our study of the plagues from Exodus 10-11. Throughout this section we'll see rising tension as God brings more devastation on Egypt. At the same time, more and more people in Egypt are understanding who God is, but Pharaoh still refuses to budge until it is too late. Our time one earth will run out too, but (as long as we have breath) it is not too late for us to turn to God!

What does this passage teach me about God?
How do I respond to what God does?

For The Love of God...Enough Already (Exodus 4:1-17)

Elder Tom Toone shares from Exodus 4:1-17. In this passage, Moses is told by God to do something for Him, just like He tells us to do things for Him. Moses comes up with reasons/excuses for why he can't do what the Lord is asking, just like we come up with reasons/excuses for ignoring God's directions. God is patient and gracious in reassuring Moses up to a certain point. God is patient and gracious with us as well up to a certain point. Ultimately, it is time for Moses to simply trust and obey God, just like we need to fully trust and obey.

What reasons/excuses do I come up with for not doing what God is asking me to do?
How can I trust and obey God?
