Seniors

Our seniors serve throughout the church in many different capacities. As Pastor Tom Toone says, “our bodies may be older but our spirit to serve the Lord remains young.” Apart from being connected throughout the whole church there are two specific ministries that are senior-led and focused.

J.O.Y. Club (Jesus. Others. You)

J.O.Y. Club meets once a month, usually on the third Tuesday of every month at 6pm. This time includes a devotion, a wonderful time of fellowship over a potluck-style meal, and a service project. The service project can vary month-to-month but one thing in all of them have in common; they are geared toward sharing the Gospel! Some things we have done in the past include:

  • Putting together backpacks for needy students

  • Creating craft kits for hospitalized children

  • Assisting in Operation Christmas Child

  • Feeding and delivering food to the homeless.

Grandparents’ Prayer Group

This group believes mightily in the power of prayer!  Our Grandparents’ Prayer Group also meets once a month in one of our families homes. Each month they are praying for over 150 names of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The most common prayer is for each of these individuals to come to salvation through Christ and/or to grow stronger in their Christian walk with Jesus.
