The Lord is (and Jesus will someday be) a strong king.
Jesus Is Better Than Being Comfortable (Hebrews 5:11-6:3)

Am I growing spiritually? If not, why not?
Jesus Is Better - Perfect Suffering (Hebrews 5:1-10)
As we approach Christmas, we don’t like to think about hardship and suffering. But the reality of suffering often comes whether we like it or not. That is why we will be encouraged by considering Christ’s perfect suffering in Hebrews 5:1-10. Because He is perfect and He suffered for us, we can have confidence that our present suffering has a purpose and that one day our suffering will end.
Do you (or someone you know) seem to have a hard time during the holidays?
What comfort should we have in the fact that Christ suffered for us?
Jesus is Better Than Going It Alone (Hebrews 4:14-16)
In this sermon, we will hear a needed reminder from God’s Word that we cannot go through life alone. Fortunately, for believers, we have a Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is much better than trying to go it alone. Hebrews 4:14-16 will tell us why.
Why is it a bad idea to try to go through life alone? How can Jesus help me in my daily life?
Jesus Is A Better Rest (Hebrews 4:1-11)
In this sermon, we will “Fall Back” as Daylight Savings Time ends. So, it seems appropriate that, in the sermon, we’ll talk about rest. Hebrews 4:1-11 will explore what the Bible’s teaching on rest means for the Christian life. What is God’s rest and how can we be a part of it? Our passage will tell us.
How do I rest? What kind of rest should I be striving for?
Jesus Is Better Than Fake Faith (Hebrews 3:7-19)
In this sermon, we discuss the dangers of false faith. We may claim to be a Christian, but if we fail to persevere, we will not make it to the Promised Land. That is why Hebrews 3:7-19 tells us that Jesus is better than fake faith.
Is my faith real or fake? How do I know that?
Jesus Is Better Than Our Heroes (Hebrews 3:1-6)
We love to celebrate the accomplishments of great men and women, whether they be athletes, political leaders, faithful followers of Christ, or the people who made a profound difference in our personal lives. But in Hebrews 3:1-6, we’ll discover that Jesus is better than our heroes. As great as their accomplishments are, they cannot compare to what He has done for us.
Who are my heroes? What has Jesus done that makes Him better than any other hero?
Jesus is a Better Brother (Hebrews 2:10-18)
I have two brothers. They’re fun to be around and I love them very much. If you have brothers, I hope you feel the same. But whether you have a brother or not, we’ll discover that Jesus is a better brother in Hebrews 2:10-18. As great as our earthly brothers may be, Jesus suffered for us, died to defeat death’s hold on us, and is available to help us every day.
Is Jesus my brother? Why is it important that Jesus defeated death?
I See The Evidence (Lamentations 3:22-23)
A sermon from ESBC Elder Daniel Long.
How have you seen evidence of Him in your day today?
Jesus Is Better Than Giving Up (Hebrews 2:1-9)
The Christian life is hard. Sometimes we may be tempted to give up. That’s why we’ll be in Hebrews 2:1-9 talking about why Jesus is better than giving up. The salvation He offers is better than any other alternative and He is worth following.
What keeps me in the Christian faith? Why is Jesus better than any other alternative?
Jesus Is Better Than the “Supernatural (Hebrews 1:3-14)
In this sermon, we’ll be in Hebrews 1:3-14. This passage is about how Jesus is better than angels, but we’re going to expand our focus and recognize that Jesus is better than any “supernatural” thing that exists or that we can imagine. Angels, demons, or even something made-up like vampires… Jesus is Better than the “Supernatural.”
What is appealing about “supernatural” beings/creatures?
How is Jesus better than that them?
Jesus Is Better - A Study Of The Book Of Hebrews
We’re going to be starting the Book of Hebrews.
This is a powerful book that boldly proclaims the message that Jesus is Better! We’ll look at Hebrews 1:1-3 and talk about how the message ‘Jesus is Better’ can be a great encouragement to us.
As you prepare for the message, please read the passage and ask yourself, “What do I spend my time thinking about or worrying about? How is Jesus better than that thing?

Always Reforming (Nehemiah 13)
In this sermon we will finish the book of Nehemiah. Nehemiah 13 reminds followers of Christ that we always need to be reforming and changing, becoming more and more like Jesus Christ.
How am I changing to become more like Jesus?
What does that change look like in my life?
What Are We Supposed To Do? (Nehemiah 11-12)
We can make our lives about many things, but for those who know God, our lives are supposed to be about worshipping Him. We do that by faithfully serving Him and praising Him. That’s what our priorities should be. We’ll talk more about that in this sermon from Nehemiah 11-12.
What is my life about? How am I serving God? Do I make it a priority to praise Him?
